You’ll Need:

  1. 1 pound thinly sliced ham (mine was about 20 slices)
  2. 2 cups grated cheese.  Use your favorite.  I used cheddar
  3. 1 package King’s Hawaiian sweet rolls
  4. 5 Tablespoons butter
  5. 1 Tablespoon dijon mustard
  6. 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  7. 1/2 teaspoon worchestershire sauce
  8. 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  9. Poppy seeds

How to Make:

  1. Open the package of King’s Hawaiian rolls and slice them down the middle.  Don’t break them apart.
  2. Put the bottom side of the rolls into a 9X13 pan.
  3. Layer the ham on top of the rolls and sprinkle the cheese all over the ham.
  4. Put the tops of the rolls on top of the ham and cheese.
  5. Melt the butter in the microwave in a microwave-safe bowl.  (about 30 seconds)
  6. Add the other ingredients and stir a bit.
  7. Microwave another 30 seconds and stir again.
  8. Drizzle the butter mixture over the tops of the rolls until completely covered, brushing with a pastry brush to cover the tops evenly.  It’s ok to let the butter go into the cracks.
  9. Sprinkle poppy seeds over all.
  10. Cover with foil and place in a 375-degree oven for about 15 minutes.
  11. Uncover and bake an additional 5 minutes on the top rack to brown the rolls and make the cheese all melty.
  12. Remove from oven and let cool slightly (5 minutes or so) and then go around each roll with a very sharp knife to cut through and separate the buns.
  13. Serve with chips and other party foods.
